At Town Close, we know that great financial planning isn’t just about numbers—it’s about people. Over the years, many of our clients have told us they’d love to know more about the team behind the scenes, so we’re introducing a new series where we shine a spotlight on the people who keep everything running smoothly.

First up, meet Louise Minns, our resident ‘Plate Spinner’ who keeps operations and client services ticking over with a smile. Since joining us in May, Louise has brought a fantastic energy to the team. From her morning cup of tea to her love of curry and her dream of having healing superpowers, here’s a glimpse into the person behind the role.

  1. When did you join the team and how did you find out about the role?

I joined the team 14th May this year. I’ve been friends with Jeremy for about 9 years (he and my husband are both Norwich City fans- I’m an Ipswich Town fan which makes for some friendly banter!)

I was made redundant from my previous role, and I couldn’t believe my luck when Jeremy asked if I’d like to join Town Close.

  1. Can you describe your role and the primary responsibilities you handle?

I’m known as a ‘Plate Spinner’ My role is really varied which I love. No day is ever the same. My role is split between Operations and Client Services, and anything in between!

  1. What’s a typical day like for you?

My day must start with a good cup of tea! I then settle down to catch up on emails and portal messages that have come in from our lovely clients, responding to these and actioning requests where I can. I have set daily tasks to attend, one of which is confirming client appointments. I’m on hand to help the Team and clients as and when is needed. We have recently re-branded, and we are working behind the scenes to streamline our operations, and I have been heavily involved in this.

  1. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing and hearing what a difference TCFP has made to our client’s future and retirement. It’s so wonderful to receive photos and updates of our clients enjoying themselves. But also, to be a support to them when life throws a curve ball.

  1. What do you appreciate most about working with your current team?

The TCFP are all such wonderful, caring and positive people. You couldn’t meet a better bunch. I feel so lucky to be part of the team (they haven’t paid me to say this, I promise!) I was made to feel welcome the moment I fired up my laptop on my first day. And for this I’m truly appreciative.

  1. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I think I’d like to have healing powers, to help people in need.

  1. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Kindness costs nothing.

  1. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

This is an easy one…..it would have to be a curry, with rice, poppadums, naan bread and riata mint sauce you get from a takeaway. The shop bought stuff is never the same!

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I don’t have a specific place in mind, but I do worship the sun, so as long as its warm and sunny then I’d love to go there!

  1. If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?

Without hesitation number 1 would have to be my hair straighteners, number 2 would be a good book and I guess the 3rd one should probably be water!
