Sarah, in her own words….

How do you evaluate a "good" company to work for?

Sometimes in life you really luck out!  Like working for a company for 10 years and having that celebrated by the team all turning up to surprise you, posh meal, fabulous cocktails and dancing the night away - topped off with a family holiday!!  I mean wow!

Then illness strikes and suddenly you aren't able to work anymore.  Hospital trips and worry consume you and your family.

Then the true value of a great company becomes apparent. The support you receive from all of your colleagues - and you realise they really are friends. When the added worry of money isn't a worry as you know your job is safe.  Having calls to check up on you - and "work" and "when are you coming back?" isn't even mentioned. Parcels arrive with treats and practical, helpful items.  Clients check in with messages and good wishes.

Going back to work after a break can be daunting and when your Boss makes the transition so easy and is so understanding that you can't really believe how blessed you are.

That's when you realise what a great company you work for. That's when you realise that a great company is the great people working in it.

Thank you Jeremy and TCFP for making an awful time not so awful x
